Symptoms of Gluten Intolerance & Celiac Disease.
Physical Symptoms
  1. Extreme digestive problems (constipation, diarrhea, IBS).
  2. Stomach pain or cramping.
  3. Weight loss or in some cases weight gain.
  4. Dermatitis Herpetologist (DH) - and itchy skin rash associated with CD, usually affects about 15% of those with Celiac Disease.
  5. Tiredness, lack of energy, or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
  6. Malnourished or lacking ability to absorb key vitamins, commonly B12 and other nutrients.
  7. Foggy or confused feelings.
  8. Issues with nervous system (tingling in limbs or feet, sometimes described as falling asleep).
  9. Anemia.
  10. Hair Loss or hair thinning.

NOTE: These are the most common symptoms. There are others as well.

Mental Symptoms
  1. Depression.
  2. Anxiety
  3. ADD or ADHD
  4. Mood swings or mood disorders.
  5. Inability to focus.
  6. Autism and Schizophrenia have been linked to gluten allergies. In some cases symptoms have lessened or even gone away completely once gluten is removed from the diet.

NOTE: While some people experience both physical and mental symptoms because of Celiac or gluten intolerance, not everyone does. Always seek advice from a doctor when deciding on a treatment or diet.
